To prevent such actions, in addition to numerous competent authorities (police, municipal wardens, fisheries guards and gamekeepers) and various inspection services) the important role is played by the Nature Conservation Supervision Service of the Notranjska Park.
Role of the Nature Conservation Supervisor
Nature Conservation Supervisor is an authorized official who operates under a public mandate in accordance with Nature Conservation Act (ZON). His main task is to carry out direct supervision and the protection of nature within the park area.
The most common violations we monitor
Conservation supervisors in the park most often deal with:
- driving motorized vehicles off designated trails,
- the introduction and spread of non-native plant and animal species,
- illegal dumping and burning of waste,
- filming in nature without permission,
- illegal boating on Lake Cerknica and Rakov Škocjan,
- searching for archaeological remains with metal detectors,
- low-flying aircraft, helicopters or drones,
- wild camping,
- poaching of protected species,
- illegal interference with water bodies,
- construction without proper permits,
- collecting protected plant species,
- disturbing birds during nesting (including while photographing),
