Cycling trail Coprnica (the Witch) GPX, Lake Cerknica, Slovenia

For experienced cyclists, the ideal route leads from Lake Cerknica to the 1,114-metre-high lookout point on Mount Slivnica. Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of the lake from both near and far.

The trail begins in Dolenje Jezero and continues towards the village of Otok. From there, you pass through villages along the eastern edge of Lake Cerknica, where you can stop to rest and enjoy a meal at one of the tourist farms or restaurants. The route carries on through the village of Grahovo, where you turn right at the church. Soon after, a steady 10-km climb takes you up Slivnica, the legendary witches’ mountain. At the top, we recommend pausing to take in the panoramic views and recharge with a meal at the Mount Slivnica Hut.

The descent follows the same road, but after about 2 km you turn left towards Cerknica. From there, return to the starting point in Dolenje Jezero.
