Cycling trail Dragon fly elevation profile near Lake Cerknica – 10 km long, altitude between 500 and 600 meters.

The starting point is the parking lot at the end of the village of Dolenje Jezero, from where you set off along a gravel road. After about 1.5 km, keep right at the fork, where a short 500-meter climb awaits. At the top, turn right toward the village of Dolenja vas.

The ride along the foothills of the Javorniki Hills rewards you with magnificent views of Lake Cerknica and Mount Slivnica. The trail passes above Skadulca Cave, then leads past the ruins of Karlovec Castle, which is tied to the legend of the lake’s creation, and above the Jamski zaliv cove, where you’ll find sinkhole caves such as Velika and Mala Karlovica (Ponor Cave).

After a 6-km ride, you arrive in Dolenja vas, where you cross a small bridge to your right, just behind the village fire station. Two more kilometers bring you back to the starting point in Dolenje Jezero.

The trail is marked with dragonfly pictograms, which you can follow on signposts along the entire route.
