You start the route at the parking lot in Dolenje Jezero and ride through the village of Otok to the southern edge of Lake Cerknica. From here, follow the eastern side of the plain toward Grahovo, where the 10-km ascent to Mount Slivnica begins.
At the summit of this legendary “Witches’ Mountain,” take a well-deserved break and enjoy the panoramic views of the mystical Lake Cerknica and the surrounding landscape. After the descent, continue toward Cerknica and along the old road across Loško to Rakek. From there, follow the main road toward Unec, then turn in the direction of Postojna. After about 2 km, take a left into the Rakov Škocjan .
In the shade of the forest, the trail leads you across the Veliki naravni most (Big Natural Bridge) and past the Mali naravni most (Small Natural Bridge). At the first junction, turn right toward the viewpoint above Lake Cerknica. From here, descend north toward Dolenja vas, cross the small bridge by the village fire station, and return to your starting point in Dolenje Jezero.
This is a long and demanding route, so we recommend planning a stop at one of the tourist farms or local restaurants along the way, where you can rest and enjoy authentic homemade food.
