Watermen

Portret vodomca (Alcedo atthis).

Water rails are small to medium-sized birds with a large head and a chocolate-colored neck, a long, strong, and pointed bill, and small legs. Most water rails live by waters, streams, rivers, lakes, and the seacoast, where they hunt. They are specialists at catching fish and other aquatic animals, which they watch from a hide, then dive after their prey into the water.
