Sluggish, sprawling or erect stem of marsh bedstraw (Galium palustre) is leafy with pointed leaves, which are mostly arranged in whorls of 4. Leaves up to 15 mm long are glabrous and broaden toward the tip. White four-parted flowers with red anthers are about 3.5 mm wide and form a somewhat loose inflorescence.

Thrives in partial shade on moist to wet soils rich in humus. It is found scattered throughout Slovenia.
