A panicle inflorescence of the common rock-rose (Helianthemum nummularium) consists of yellow flowers, which measure 2–3 cm in diameter. Because of them the plant is also called sun-rose. The awl-shaped to oblong opposite leaves are hairy and up to 4 cm long. At the base of the leaves, stipules are developed.
This species thrives in dry and sunny habitats throughout Slovenia, the other three species, however, thrive high above sea level.
