Strawberry clover (Trifolium fragiferum) is a perennial that creeps along moist grassy soils with a trailing stem. Its creeping stem, which at the nodes takes root, is leafy with three-lobed leaflets with finely serrated margins. From 5 to 7 mm long pale pink flowers form a head-shaped inflorescence at the top of a long flowering stalk. The inflorescence is about 10 mm wide during flowering, and as the fruits mature the densely hairy calyces swell noticeably and the inflorescence expands to about 20 mm.

Strawberry clover grows on moist, nitrogen-rich alkaline soils in particularly bright locations. It particularly likes grassy tracks on regularly mowed wet meadows. It is widespread throughout Slovenia.
