The pink bracts of Lychnis flos–cuculi are deeply divided into four lobes. The calyx leaves have fused into a tube with prominent longitudinal ridges on its surface. The stem is sticky below the inflorescence, and its opposite stem leaves are upright and protruding. The plant is common throughout Slovenia, but it grows only in sunny habitats on moist soils rich in humus.
