Blue four-lobed flowers of the long-leaved speedwell (Veronica maritima) are grouped into a long, dense inflorescence at the top of the stem. Its bracted inflorescences are usually branched. For the flowers, a lilac-colored corolla is characteristic, which is 6 to 8 mm wide and 5 to 7 mm long. The upright stem is leafy with sharply serrated oblong-lanceolate leaves, arranged in whorls. In each whorl there are three or four leaves, up to 10 cm long.
The long-leaved speedwell is a plant on nutrient-rich soils, characterized by variable moisture. In Slovenia it is relatively rare; somewhat more occurrences are known only in the interior of the country.
