Common eyebright (Euphrasia rostkoviana) is a hemiparasite. This small annual plant draws water and nutrients from the host plant, while it performs photosynthesis. Its stem, the supporting leaves of the flowers, and the calyx are glandular. Small, oval, sessile leaves are coarsely toothed.
Common eyebright thrives in soils with little nutrients. It is widespread throughout Slovenia. In the past it was used to relieve digestive problems and eye problems.
