The upright stem of the yellow daylily (Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus) is leafless. At its top up to twelve large, pleasantly fragrant flowers develop. The tepals at the base are fused into a tube, toward the top they are free and form a tubular flower. The edge of the petals is straight. The vivid yellow flower is 5 to 7 cm long. Basal leaves are numerous. They are 40 to 80 cm long, and only 6 to 12 mm wide. The yellow daylily is a fairly rare plant in Slovenia, distributed scattered across the country.
In Slovenia it is listed as a vulnerable species on the Red List of endangered plants and protected, therefore it is not allowed to remove it from its natural habitat, pick it, or otherwise damage it!
