Light blue six-petaled flowers of the two-leaved sea squill (Scilla bifolia) are 1–2 cm wide. At the top of the bare stem they form a cluster of flowers. Its long, strap-shaped basal leaf ends in a hooded curl. Mature seeds are dispersed by ants. It thrives on moist soil in the shelter of deciduous forests.
Apart from the Alps and other high elevations, it is widespread throughout Slovenia. It is a poisonous plant.
