Family: umbellifers (Apiaceae)
Flowering time: May–July
Size: 30–60 cm
Habitat: stands of tall sedges, marsh meadows
Round, hollow stem of the common dropwort (Oenanthe fistulosa) sends runners along the ground. Its bipinnately divided leaves on the stem are divided into threadlike lobes, the small white flowers are grouped into an umbel at the top of the stem. The sessile fruits redden as they mature. They are arranged very closely together, so the small umbel is round. The common dropwort is a very rare, highly poisonous plant in Slovenia.
