Family: kukavičevke (Orchidaceae)
Flowering time: May–June

The inflorescence of the marsh orchid (Orchis palustris) consists of crimson flowers. The trilobed honey lip is more or less flat, in the middle it is lighter and can be speckled with darker spots. The stem is leafy with narrow and long, upright leaves. It thrives only on moist, unfertilized soils and is quite rare in Slovenia. The distribution range of this species has greatly diminished due to changes in its habitat.
