The Turk's-cap lily (Lilium martagon) has several large Turk's-cap-shaped, dark pink flowers arranged in a cluster-like inflorescence. The petals, speckled with dark spots, are rolled back and resemble a Turk's turban. The stem is densely leafy. The lower leaves occur in whorls of 3–10, the upper ones are arranged spirally. The plant is widespread throughout Slovenia, thriving mainly on calcareous substrates. In our country, the Turk's-cap lily is protected and it is not allowed to pick it, remove it from its natural habitat, or otherwise damage it.
