The white narcissus is a wonderful plant, to which people have given various names. In Slovenia it is also called white or mountain narcissus, bedenica, and in some places also ključavnica. From the underground bulb of the white narcissus (Narcissus poeticus ssp. radiiflorus) emerge four strap-shaped, grey-green basal leaves and an upright, flattened stem.

At the top of the bare stem develops a single beautiful, intoxicatingly fragrant white flower. The six lanceolate white petals are narrowed at the base to a wedge. In the center of the six-part flower is developed a yellow corona with a red edge. The corona is a formation from the grown patches on the petals. The white narcissus is widely distributed throughout Slovenia. It is quite rare here and listed on the Red List of Threatened Plants.

Furthermore, it is also protected, so do not damage or remove it from its natural habitat and also do not pick it, as the most beautiful ornament is precisely the area where it grows.
