Water iris

Vodna perunika (Iris pseudacorus) ima velike rumene cvetove.

Water iris (Iris pseudacorus) stands out with its large, distinctive yellow flowers, which develop at the tops of tall, somewhat flattened stems. The outer petals are larger and more widely spread, and the inner ones are shorter and narrower. Stems and 1–3 cm wide, up to 1 m long, tapered linear leaves arise from a thick rhizome. This species thrives scattered across Slovenia, but only by waters.

In Slovenia, it is protected by the Regulation on Protected Wild Plant Species.
