The flowers of true watercress (Rorippa amphibia) consist of four yellow petals that are twice as long as the sepals. All stem leaves are sessile. The upper ones are simple and irregularly serrated, the lower ones may be lobed. It is an amphibious plant and can thrive in water or on land. It adapts to environmental changes by changing its shape, anatomy and functioning. In the Red List of Threatened Plants of Slovenia it is regarded as a vulnerable species.
