The four-petaled pink flowers of meadow bitter-cress (Cardamine pratensis) have yellow stamens and are about 1 cm long. Basal pinnate leaves, whose terminal leaflet is larger than the lateral ones, form a leaf rosette. At the top of the leafy, hollow stem they form a dense inflorescence.
It thrives on moist soils in sunny locations throughout Slovenia.
People have used infusions of meadow bitter-cress to relieve pain and cramps, and soups and salads have been prepared from the young leaves.
