The hairy, pubescent or erect stems of the common self-heal (Prunella vulgaris) spread by slender stolons. Opposite, short-petioled stem leaves are usually entire. The upper pair is developed just below the dense inflorescence, which consists of 1–1.5 cm long bluish-violet two-lipped flowers.
It thrives in sunny locations on moist soils throughout Slovenia.
It was used to relieve digestive and respiratory problems and for wound healing.
