Experience the authentic spirit of rural life at the 12th Mnogokosje – Traditional Haymaking Festival in the village of Selšček. This unique event celebrates the centuries-old tradition of hand mowing and preserves an important part of the area's cultural heritage.
The programme:
- On Friday, 17 July, at 7:00 PM at the Zgonček Homestead (Selšček 35), where visitors can watch a demonstration of traditional scythe sharpening, just as it was done by past generations.
- On Saturday, 18 July, at 5:00 AM, the mowers will gather at the Maksim Gaspari monument in the village square before heading together to the meadow for a traditional haymaking demonstration. They will be joined by women with wooden rakes, recreating the teamwork and rhythm of rural life as it once was.
Join us to experience the scent of freshly cut grass, the distinctive sound of scythes, and the peaceful atmosphere of a summer morning in the Notranjska countryside.
