Story:
Director Metod Pevec and psychiatrist Vladimir Milošević spent a year and a half following a group of prisoners convicted of the most serious crimes at Dob Prison, who were taking part in a psychodrama process. In the safe space of the therapeutic sessions, the prisoners confront their childhoods, family relationships, traumas, violence, guilt and responsibility, and reflect on life after serving their sentences. With its nuanced perspective, the film transcends stereotypes and, through candid confessions, reveals the people behind the crimes, raising questions about change, forgiveness and reintegration into society. *When I Get Out* won the Audience Award for Best Film at the 27th Slovenian Film Festival.
