Join us on a unique hike following the legend of the origin of Europe’s largest intermittent lake – the mystical Lake Cerknica.
The hike begins at the ruins of Šteberk Castle on the eastern side of the lake and leads to the western edge, where Karlovca Castle once stood. According to the legend, this was the route walked and later rowed by the Šteberk prince to reach the Karlovca princess.
You will be amazed by the secrets of the karst world hidden along the shores of the intermittent lake. You may hike with local guides, independently, or with your own group. Along the way, small local snacks will restore your energy, and at the end, a warm meal will await you at the Lovrenc Hut in Dolenja Vas. A short cultural program will also be provided.
Organized bus transport will return participants to the starting point.
