Opening of the exhibition "Images of Lake Cerknica: Where water tells stories"

Lake Cerknica is not only a intermittent wonder, but also an extraordinary source of inspiration, stories, and moments that local photographers capture and preserve through their lenses year after year. Its appearance is constantly changing—from a vast expanse of water to mysterious wetlands and meadows.

As part of the LIFE Tršca project, we invite you to the photography exhibition “Images of Lake Cerknica: Where water tells stories,” which presents Lake Cerknica in all its diversity, beauty, and natural dynamics. The exhibition highlights the importance of preserving this very special piece of the world while also showing how closely people’s lives are intertwined with the lake’s natural rhythms.

The exhibition will be on view through the end of September 2026 at the Jože Udovič Library in Cerknica and all of its branches.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 19:00 at the Jože Udovič Library in Cerknica. The opening will feature a short accompanying program and an opportunity to socialize over refreshments.

The exhibition will feature works by local photographers:

- Veljko Klarić,
- Erik Premrov,
- Dajana Radić,
- Miran Špeh,
- Tine Šubic,
- Zoran Vidrih,
- Sebastjan Zelič, and
- Blaž Žnidaršič.

The exhibition schedule by library branch is as follows:
- Jože Udovič Library in Cerknica: June 5–July 2
- Ivan Matičič Branch in Rakek: July 3–July 31
- Marička Žnidaršič Branch in Stari trg pri Ložu: August 3–31
- Ivan Čamp Branch in Nova vas: September 1–30, 2026

The exhibition will be open during the regular opening hours of each library branch.
