"Javorniki" is one of the largest forest areas in Slovenia and an important refuge for many wild animals. On a hike through this primeval forest world, we will discover its hidden stories, follow the signs of forest life and surrender to the peace of unspoiled nature.
On the hike, you will:
- explore the vast Javornica forests,
- look for traces of wild animals and learn about their habitat,
- listen to the sounds of the forest and observe its diversity,
- discover the remains of the former Rapallo border,
- enjoy the views and genuine contact with the wilderness.
Enter the world of mysterious forests, where nature still dictates its rhythm.
- Trail: length 16 km, 930 meters of elevation gain
- Trip duration: from 9:00 to 16:00 (7 h)
- Meeting point: Rakov Škocjan, parking by the Rakov Škocjan Hotel (N 45.78862, E 14.29770)
- Guide: Stanislav Gnezda, Odvezana pohajanja
- Required equipment: hiking boots, hiking poles, suitable clothing, a drink, mosquito and tick repellent
- Suitable for: hikers in good physical condition, ages 12 and up
