Discover Rakov Škocjan – one of the most beautiful karst valleys in Slovenia.
Join a guided exploration of the unique karst valley, which was created by the collapse of the ceiling of a former karst cave and today hides numerous natural and historical attractions.
On a 5-kilometer hike, you will:
- visit the famous natural bridges, the remains of the cave ceiling, which are about 40 m high
- learn about the formation and functioning of the karst world,
- explore the valley through which the Rak stream flows,
- discover karst springs and other characteristic natural phenomena,
- visit the ruins of the church of St. Kancijan, after which the valley was named,
- enjoy a pleasant walk along shady forest paths.
- Trip duration: from 9:00 to 13:00 (4 h)
- Meeting point: Rakov Škocjan, parking by the Rakov Škocjan Hotel (N 45.78862, E 14.29770)
