This year again, at the beginning and the end of summer, we are preparing Tales beneath the treetops for our youngest visitors! For many years, this beloved event has brought puppet shows and live performances for children to the enchanting garden of Gallery Krpan.
Story:
A child, a mother, brothers and sisters, a bed, a spoon, and a cup of porridge—a safe home where we eat, sleep, and play. A world the child recognizes from their own everyday life. Outside the house: a meadow, a stream, bushes, and animals that the child observes. Look, a spider on its web, a bird in the air, a white sheep in the meadow! The sun in the sky and a cloud! The little one already knows them too—some from the backyard, others from picture books, since that’s where our children first see sheep and crabs.
Levstik’s *Videk*, performed by the Fru-Fru Theater, is a puppet show intended for the youngest children—not only in terms of content but also in its visual style, full of soft shapes, warm materials, and vibrant colors, which, in the show’s unique, slow rhythm, intertwine with the sounds of rhythmic and sung words and small instruments.
