The oldest moving carnival street performance in Slovenia with a fiery – wet ending.
"What needs to be done, should be done". Once again, on Ash Wednesday, our dear Pust will bite the dust and say goodbye for a year. It will have been dying since February 12, and it will finally be picked up on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
The Carnival Funeral is the oldest carnival event in Cerknica. It is said that since time immemorial, Pust has been burned on the bridge. The times, people, bridges and countries have changed, but the tradition remains. The funeral will once again take place on the 4th of May Road.
"Secular" authority will return to Cerknica once again, as Mayor of Butale will renounce it in great sorrow.
