Before the screening of the film Bojevita kraljica noči (Fearless queen of the night), Zoran Vidrih, an experienced local nature photographerwill join us and share his unique stories and field experiences. For many years he has patiently observed and photographed the animals of Lake Cerknica, among them also one of the largest owls in Europe – Ural owl - Kozača.
During the talk you will have the opportunity to peek into the world of this magnificent bird through Zoran's photographic lens. He will reveal how he prepares for long hours of quiet waiting in nature, how he captures the perfect moment, and what is needed for him to share his photographs and videos with us. At the end of the talk there will also be time for audience questions.

After the talk with Zoran, there will be a screening of the new documentary film by Matej Vranič – Fearless Queen of the Night. The film depicts the life of the Ural Owl, its interactions with other animal species and humans, and the scientific study of this species. It presents very rarely seen scenes – hunting prey, rearing cubs, even an attack on a person. You can watch the trailer for the upcoming documentary film at this link.
