Exhibition and Saturday program with LIFE TRSCA

Throughout the festival, the exhibition of artworks If I was a bird (Če bi bil ptica)” will be on display, created during the 2024/2025 school year as part of the LIFE TRŠCA project. In the interior of Galerija Krpan, you can see how our youngest envision birds – what they would look like, where they would fly, and where they would make their nests.

Saturday evening will be particularly special, as the exhibition and film screening will be complemented at 20:30 by a talk with Izidor Ostan Ožbolt, member of the Mladi za podnebno pravičnost movement, who will connect the film’s story with real-world challenges our planet is facing – from floods to community adaptation to new climate realities.

After the talk, the animated film Flow (Valovanje), directed by Gints Zilbalodis, will be screened. The story follows a lonely black cat whose home is destroyed by a catastrophic flood. When she is carried onto a boat with a variety of animals – a dog, capybara, lemur, and secretary bird – they must overcome their differences and work together to survive in a world where nature dominates the remnants of humanity. Visually stunning animation with a dystopian charm invites reflection on interdependence, adaptability, and solidarity. The film relies entirely on the power of visual storytelling, music, and sound. Without a single spoken word, it immerses the viewer in an experience that is both universal and deeply personal.
