Lake Cerknica is a true natural wonder – never the same, always changing. As the water comes and goes, so too does life within and around the lake. Where today reeds rustle and waterbirds sing, tomorrow there may be a dry field crossed by deer, jackals, or even brown bears.
These precious and often hidden moments have been captured by local photographers and brought together in the exhibition Mirror of Nature: The Wild World of Animals of Lake Cerknica.
Created within the LIFE TRSCA project, the exhibition showcases the remarkable diversity of wildlife in this unique corner of the world and reminds us how important it is to protect the gifts of nature.
You are warmly invited to the opening of the exhibition on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Jože Udovič Library in Cerknica.
At the opening, we will step together into the photographic stories of life around the lake. The program will be enriched by performances from the students of the Fran Gerbič Music School Cerknica, and visitors will be treated to a tasting of delicious homemade specialties from Levar Farm.
The exhibition features the work of the following photographers, who with their keen eye and sense of the moment capture stories of life at Lake Cerknica:

- Erik Premrov
- Jakob Stanič
- Tine Šubic
- Miran Špeh
