From the beginning of May to the end of June, DOPPS – BirdLife Slovenia, a project partner, conducted monitoring of reedbed birds at Lake Cerknica. One of the key objectives of this survey is to assess how different habitat management methods influence bird communities.
The monitoring was carried out by an experienced ornithologist during the early morning hours, following a predefined transect route. Birds were recorded in 100-meter segments, and the collected data will be analyzed in conjunction with a habitat survey to better understand the relationships between bird populations and environmental conditions.
