In August we finished studying plant species that build marsh vegetation. On the research areas we also harvested reed ("tršca") and other plants and took them to the laboratory. This will allow us to determine the mass of the reed and see how vital it is on different areas.
The growing season in 2024 was very favorable for reed. Due to the rainy August last year, the reed was not mowed in large parts of the lake, so in some places they grew to a height of almost four metres. Such reeds are also very vigorous.
