LIFE TRŠCA: Visit of Polish experts

A group of seven people is seated around a large oval table in a room with wooden floors and walls. On the table are laptops, water bottles, and papers. Framed pictures hang on the walls, and the room is lit by natural light through the windows as well as wall-mounted lamps.

At the end of April, we were visited by two experts from Poland, Dr Marcin Polak and Dr Janusz Kloskowski, professors of zoology at the Universities of Lublin and Poznan. In the framework of Work package (WP) 2, they gave a workshop on the ecology of the Red-necked grebe and the Ferruginous duck, both of which they are world-renowned experts on. Part of their visit was also in the field, where they will analyse the prey resources available for these two species. Their recommendations and findings will help us to plan measures to protect biodiversity in the reedbeds of the Lake Cerknica.

The contribution was prepared by the DOPPS - Birdlife Slovenia.
