The Notranjska Park website achieved outstanding success at this year’s NETKO 2026 awards. Among many high-quality digital projects in Slovenia, it received two second-place awards – in the categories Best Website of a Public or Non-Governmental Organization and Best Website for Tourism, Events or Leisure.
This is an important recognition that confirms the quality, clarity, and innovativeness of our digital presence, while also affirming that we are on the right path in developing modern destination communication.
A modern digital experience for visitors
The redesigned Notranjski Park website is not just an informational platform, but a comprehensive digital experience that guides visitors through the destination’s offer. It is designed with the user in mind – clear, intuitive, and content-rich – enabling every visitor to quickly find ideas for active leisure, discover the rich diversity of nature, and explore the stories shaped by the mystical landscape of Lake Cerknica.
An important aspect of the redesign is the introduction of advanced digital solutions. The visitor flow management system helps visitors better plan and distribute their visits across the area, improving the overall experience while also contributing to the protection of the sensitive natural environment. Additional support is provided by an AI chatbot, which offers quick and easy access to information and assists visitors in planning their visit.
At the same time, the website follows modern digital communication trends – from mobile responsiveness to a clear content structure and visually appealing presentation. The focus remains on accessible information and inspiring content that not only informs but also encourages people to visit.

Recognised quality of the Slovenian web
The NETKO award, presented by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and Register.si, has for many years highlighted the best web projects. Its mission is to promote quality, innovation, and creativity in Slovenia’s digital space.
Being ranked among the top projects and receiving two second-place awards represents an important confirmation that the Notranjski Park website is recognised as an example of good practice in digital destination presentation.
This achievement is the result of thoughtful development, collaboration, and a shared vision – how to present the natural and cultural uniqueness of the area in a modern way and invite visitors to explore it.
Our goal remains clear: to continue developing content and digital tools that enable visitors to easily discover, plan, and experience Notranjski Park. With every step, we aim to bring our story closer – the story of the mystical land of Lake Cerknica, inspiring through its unique natural and cultural heritage.
The website renovation project was co-financed through the LIFE Tršca and LIFE for Seeds projects, with support from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning, the Ministry of Public Administration, and The Sigrid Rausing Trust. The renewed digital platform fits within the broader trend of smart tourism, where technology serves as a tool for improving the visitor experience while ensuring long-term nature conservation.
