At Notranjski Park, we have concluded the first series of meetings with key stakeholders in the tourism sector. The purpose of these meetings was to review the past tourist season and prepare for the upcoming one. The meetings focused on improving the quality of the offer, adapting to modern trends, and strengthening cooperation among local providers.

Meeting with tourist guides

The first meeting, held on 26 February 2026, was dedicated to tourist guides, where we presented the reorganization of the existing thematic weekend concept. The analysis of past years showed that the thematic weekend model had reached its developmental peak, as it was highly dependent on several factors such as weather conditions, visitor interest, and the availability of guides.

We introduced a new concept based on three levels of offer: selected experiences, regular guided tours (Daily Guided Tours), and local events. The goal of this transformation is to ensure a more stable, predictable, and diverse tourism offer that will be available throughout most of the year. Special emphasis is placed on regular guided tours during the high season and on strengthening the role of guides as independent providers of experiences.

We also highlighted that the park will continue to actively support the promotion of experiences and events, with the level of promotional support depending on the category of the offer in which each experience is placed. Guides can find more detailed information on conditions and criteria in the public call for the promotion of tourist experiences, to which applications can be submitted until 23 March 2026. The application form and more information can be found at the following link.

Meeting with accommodation providers

The second meeting, held on 3 March 2026, was intended for accommodation providers. The lecture was delivered by experts in tourism accommodation management, Klemen Bednarik and Klara Korenč, who presented key approaches to optimizing business operations on online platforms such as Booking, Airbnb, and others.

The focus was on the importance of high-quality presentation of accommodation – particularly professional photography, appropriate pricing strategies, and adapting the offer to target groups. Special emphasis was also placed on the use of digital tools such as channel manager systems, which enable centralized reservation management and reduce the risk of operational errors. The speakers also highlighted the importance of process automation and effective guest communication, which lead to a better user experience and higher ratings.

Meeting with the Cajnarje and Grahovo hunting associations

The third meeting, held on 10 March 2026, was dedicated to cooperation with the Cajnarje and Grahovo hunting associations, where we reviewed the previous season of bear-watching experiences and discussed the further development of this unique product.

The meeting focused primarily on the exchange of experiences among partners and on identifying opportunities for further improving the organization and delivery of the experiences. Particular attention was given to strengthening cooperation, improving the flow of information, and further enhancing the overall quality of the visitor experience.

Summary

The stakeholder meetings confirmed that successful preparation for the tourist season depends on strong cooperation among all involved – from guides and accommodation providers to local partners in the field. The shared direction is the development of high-quality, accessible, and sustainable experiences that meet the expectations of modern visitors and contribute to the long-term development of the destination.
