We are particularly proud of the LIFE FOR SEEDS project, within which we collected more than 400 seed bags and restored 10 hectares of meadows in theLake Cerknica area and Menišija plateau. In addition, we started activities in the LIFE TRŠCA project with great enthusiasm, which focuses on biodiversity conservation and sustainable management of peatlands and other key habitats in our area.
An important step towards long-term nature conservation was also the start of land acquisition procedures, which will enable better conservation management of aquatic and terrestrial habitats. In addition, we have gained five new wardens, who with their knowledge and dedication take care of safeguarding the natural heritage of the Notranjska Park.
Obtaining the Green Key certificate for the Visitor Center Lake Cerknica and inclusion in the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism (ZSST) with the Slovenia Green brand demonstrates our commitment to high standards of environmental responsibility and sustainable tourism.
Our sustainability-oriented activities were reflected through 71 guided events, which attracted more than 1,000 visitors. Guided tours, workshops, cultural and culinary activities raised awareness about the importance of preserving nature and cultural heritage. The Visitor Center Lake Cerknica remains a hub of information and exploration, as evidenced by more than 14,000 visitors.
With the successful start of the Kino brez ovir project, supported by funds from the Creative Europe program, we have created opportunities for access to cultural content for sensory-impaired people. The project has become an important part of our commitment to inclusive and accessible tourism and cultural participation.
We are grateful for all achievements and for the cooperation of the local community and visitors who share our vision of preserving nature and culture for future generations. With your support, we will continue to build a sustainable and responsible future for the Notranjska Park.
Sincerely,
Leon Kebe
Director of the Notranjska Park
