The year 2025 was a year of intensive work, significant steps in nature conservation, a rich cultural pulse, and enhanced development of responsible tourism for the Notranjska Park.

We are pleased to note that, as a whole—with our three depertments, the Protection of Natural and Cultural Heritage Department, the Tourism Department, and the Cerknica Cultural Centre—we have further aligned our mission and focused our energy on a common goal: creating a Notranjska Park for people and nature, a space where we can preserve and develop the exceptional natural and cultural heritage of the Notranjska region.

In 2025, we carried out extensive nature conservation activities within the framework of LIFE projects, strengthened sustainable wetland management, conducted field surveys, and restored more than 28 hectares of grassland. We are proud to have successfully continued the development of the seed bank, accelerated the removal of invasive species, and introduced innovative approaches such as reed pelletization and digitally monitoring disturbances in the area.

In 2025, the Cerknica Cultural Center became an important regional cultural center with more than 400 events and more than 20,000 visitors, and upgraded the international project Cinema Without Barriers to a national initiative. In doing so, we have linked inclusive culture, sustainability, and accessibility into a unified development framework for our area.

Meanwhile, the Tourism Department has strengthened its content, attracted new visitors, continued to develop sustainable products, and upgraded the quality of services for visitors, including by revamping its website.

The community—local, professional, and international—remains at the heart of all our activities. Without the cooperation of landowners, farmers, associations, creators, visitors, and partners, Notranjska Park would not be what it is today: a lively, dynamic, and connected region committed to nature conservation and a stimulating culture.

Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to our joint successes.

Yours sincerely,
Leon Kebe
Director of the Notranjska Regional Park
