The Green Karst destination has once again been awarded the Slovenia Green Destination Bronze label as part of the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism.

Across the six assessed categories, the destination achieved an average score of 6.7 out of 10, with the highest scores in Nature and Landscape (8.8) and Culture and Tradition (8.0).

Among the examples of good practice, the assessor specifically highlighted visitor monitoring at natural attractions in Notranjska park, alongside the activities of the Green Karst Regional Mobility Centre and the Green Karst Cross-Border Exchange for Local Providers.

The assessment results also provide important guidance for future work. Greater attention will need to be given to systematically monitoring residents' satisfaction and the economic impacts of tourism, as well as to more actively involving tourism providers in measures related to energy and water use, waste management and carbon footprint monitoring.

With an overall score of 6.7, Green Karst is approaching the threshold of 7.1 required for the Silver label. In the coming period, the destination will therefore continue to enhance its sustainable management in cooperation with municipalities, public institutions, tourism providers and other stakeholders.

The renewed certification recognises the work carried out so far while also providing an incentive for further improvement. Sustainable destination development is a long-term process based on cooperation, continuous monitoring and ongoing progress.
