Notranjska Park organizes professional excursions and field exercises for students.
The program weaves together a visit to the Visitor Center Lake Cerknica and the exploration of karst phenomena on and around the Drvošec thematic trail, with the help of experiential workshops, exploration of habitats and the use of various didactic tools: binoculars, telescopes, magnifying glasses, identification keys, capture nets and worksheets.
Through various activities they will address and achieve different objectives from the curricula at the faculties:
- characteristics of karst regions in Slovenia,
- the importance of karst as a whole,
- classification and distribution of carbonate rocks,
- the importance and method of protecting caves as an important part of our natural and cultural heritage,
- understanding the role of organisms at different levels,
- understanding the importance of ecosystem services and recognizing changes in nature,
- management and implementation of sustainable development in protected areas,
- holistic management of agricultural land and environmental protection,
- characteristics of Natura 2000 and its management,
- understanding the different segments of living nature at different organizational levels (from molecules, cells to organisms and communities).
