Biodiversity is the fantastic variety of life, one of the most precious and most noble characteristics of our planet, as it is a key element of ecosystem services on which we depend. Slovenia boasts one of the highest levels of biodiversity in Europe, which, however, is not sufficiently recognized and therefore not sufficiently valued. With the project, we want to reveal the exceptional natural treasures of Slovenia and their importance and illuminate the dangers they face.

Project objectives:
The main objective of the LIFE NATURAVIVA project is to raise awareness of the threat to biodiversity and to inform and educate various target groups about it. The project, with numerous activities, aims:
- present the rich biodiversity of species, habitats and ecosystems in Slovenia,
- emphasize the impact of humans on biodiversity loss,
- encourage a positive attitude toward nature, protected areas and the Natura 2000 network,
- increase awareness of biodiversity as a source of ecosystem services that provide socio-economic benefits and positively affect health and well-being,
- link nature conservation with culture and art,
- contribute to the realization of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2020,
- increase the adoption of nature conservation programs among the population and
- provide information to tourism stakeholders about sustainable tourism and nature-friendly tourist destinations.
