We will collect the results of our project and present them for further use and upgrading. The developed methods, systems, knowledge and experience will be transferred to areas outside the project area in Slovenia and abroad.

T.6.1.i - Exploitation of experience about land use monitoring to other nature parks in Slovenia

With the aim of knowledge transfer, NRP will organize a one-day seminar for approximately 30 participants from Slovenian natural parks and the professional public. Lectures will be delivered by representatives of NRP, ZRSVN and DOPPS. In addition, NRP will provide individual consultation in five parks at the managers' headquarters. At least two organizations will actually use the method during the project duration. For these organizations, NRP will provide additional support in preparing, planning and adapting the methodology to local conditions.

T.6.1.ii - Development and implementation of an agricultural policy measure applicable for marshland all over Slovenia

Based on the experiences gained in developing agricultural measures for preserving swamp vegetation in the Lake Cerknica area within task T.2.2, we will prepare a new or revised agricultural-environmental measure for the whole of Slovenia. The aim is to provide support for ecologically sustainable management of wetlands, which are threatened by encroachment, drying up, silting and overuse. The work will take place within the expert group on land management. In addition to the 10 meetings of the expert group that we will conduct within task T.2.2, we will hold 5 additional meetings in which we will discuss materials and formulate the final proposed measure. GIS-format maps of eligible areas will also be produced. With appropriate cooperation with decision-makers, we will ensure that the proposed measure is included in the CAP strategic plan in Slovenia.

T.6.1.iii – Database as support to land management available to use by other nature parks in Slovenia and monitoring of bird disturbance and other disturbances/violations important for nature conservation throughout Slovenia

For effective management of Lake Cerknica, NRP together with ZRSVN and DOPPS within Task T.3.1 will establish a web GIS database with a module for recording bird disturbances, disturbing activities and violations. Entries will also be possible directly using the new mobile application. The disturbance recording module will also be used by volunteers and organizations across Slovenia. Within Task T.6.1.iii, several events, workshops and presentations will be organized to promote the use of the system.

We will ensure the sustainability of the project results for the long term and secure optimal management of marsh vegetation for conservation of the habitat type intermittent lake and target birds. An After–LIFE plan will be prepared, where all activities to sustain project results will be defined.

Projects in the Notranjska Park

The implementation of extensive nature conservation projects exceeds the financial capacity of the local community, therefore Notranjska Park regularly applies for projects with the possibility of co-financing by the European Union.
