The project contributes to solving the problem of a disconnected tourism offer in the Lake Cerknica area. Using as a starting point the unique natural and cultural heritage of the lake and its surroundings, which is protected by the Notranjska Regional Park. The aim of the operation is to upgrade existing services into an innovative and sustainability-oriented tourism product.

Although individual services already exist and are marketed, they are not connected into a single, cohesive product; likewise, there is a lack of innovative approaches in their implementation and marketing.

Objectives and purpose of the project:

The aim of the project is for all project partners (PP) to enhance their services:

  • enhance,
  • improve and
  • connect them into a sustainable integrated tourism product based on the phenomenon of Lake Cerknica.

Different programs will be designed, tailored to the season, the state of the lake, and the mode of visitation, which will be available year-round, thereby achieving de-seasonalization of the tourism offer.

Key content components:

The operation is divided into three content blocks:

  • Improving infrastructure and knowledge
    – Upgrading existing infrastructure and strengthening the competencies and knowledge of all involved stakeholders.
  • Designing a tourist product and programs
    – Development of new programs with original content that will be linked to the natural characteristics of Lake Cerknica.
  • Positioning the product on the market
    – Joint market presence by partners and the implementation of modern marketing approaches and promotion of the holistic tourist product.
