The Menišija plateau stretches from Bloke in the southeast toward the Rovtarsko mountain range in the northeast. It contacts it in a narrow belt between Vrhnika and Logatec and separates the Ljubljana Marsh from the Notranjska Plain. The plateau is characterized by a rugged and sinkhole-like karst relief between 700 and 800 m above sea level. With the exception of the Brejnice spring, which is only a few metres long, it has no surface waters and watercourses. In the past there was a lake on the plateau, as evidenced by ponor caves. In the Menišija area, to date, 128 caves and caverns have been registered.
