The ridge of the Vid plateau has an elevation between 800 and 870 m and is bounded by the valley of the Cerkniščica river to the south and the Iška to the north. In the plateau, the valleys of the Opečnik, Jazbine, and Štrukljevski potok streams cut into it from the south. The Otave Platea lies at the boundary between Menišija and the Vid plateau, at around 800 m above sea level. In the plateau, the Otavščica stream to the north and the Mrzlek to the south have carved deep valleys. Due to the dolomitic rock base there are fewer caves in this area.
