Plump little rooster

Vijolična cvetova votlega petelinčka (Corydalis cava).

Family: rosničevke (Fumariaceae)
Flowering time: March–June
Size: 10–35 cm
Habitat: deciduous forests, living hedges, among shrubs and orchards

An upright, unbranched stem of hollow-stemmed corydalis (Corydalis cava) is leafy with two large bluish-green leaves. Its stalked, twice-tripartite leaf is glabrous. This species on the stem below the lower stem leaf has no scale leaf. The pale violet or white flowers are at the top of the stem grouped in a dense, single-flowered inflorescence. Each two-lobed flower with a long sharp spur develops into a protective bract. The hollow-stemmed corydalis got its name from the hollow tuber hidden in the soil. It is distributed scattered throughout Slovenia.
