The windflowers (Thalictrum aquilegiifolium) have a particularly tufted form of the stamens. They can be in various shades of color, from light pink to purplish. The petals, already reduced, fall off during flowering. The entire plant is glabrous, the stem leafy with characteristic finely divided leaves. The species thrives on moist soils from the plains to the belt of scrub throughout Slovenia, except in the far northeastern part and along the coast where it is not found.
