In the village of Goričice, on the southern edge of picturesque Lake Cerknica, stands the last house with a beautiful thatched roof. This unique home offers a cozy holiday retreat for up to five guests. Dating back to the late 18th century, Dormouse House is charmingly preserved and protected as a cultural monument of local importance.

Step through the decorated wooden doors and you’ll find an entrance hall with natural stone flooring and a high arched ceiling. The central room combines a traditional bread oven, dining area, and two beds, while a smaller room provides three additional beds (one 170 cm long). In recent years, the owners have carefully renovated the house, preserving its rustic character. Where the old black kitchen once stood, there is now a modern kitchen, and in part of the former cellar, a small bathroom has been arranged.

Dormouse House is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful Notranjska region, with plenty of hiking trails and natural sights nearby. Pets are welcome at an additional charge.
