Bringing your own vessel
If you set out to explore with your own boat, paddleboard, or kayak, keep in mind that boating on the lake is restricted. The reason is the protection of many endangered and sensitive animal species that live here.

Before heading onto Lake Cerknica with your vessel, make sure to check the navigation rules, the designated boating areas, and of course the water level. Only in this way can you enjoy discovering the mystical lake with minimal impact on this fragile ecosystem.
You can also rent a canoe by the lake or join a guided experience with a local guide, who will introduce you more deeply to the nature and unique features of this intermittent lake.
